Quality assurance is a process of monitoring and improving a product, to ensure that it meets or exceeds prescribed requirements, and to ensure that problems are found and dealt with. Nobody’s perfect – and that's why testing is essential. At Winding River, we test every deliverable thoroughly throughout the development process.

The types of testing performed include:

• Functional software testing
• Integration testing (i.e., testing parts of an application to ensure that they work together)
• Hardware/Configuration/Optimization testing
• User acceptance testing
• Performance testing (also called 'load' or 'stress' testing)
